The Sultanate of Pashmar

Mahmud I, Sultan of Pashmar-- The Sultan of Pashmaristan. A kind, fair and just ruler, he forged his small territory though negotiation and trade. A man given to opulence, he rarely leaves his palace in the capital of Pashmar. Though he dotes upon his only daughter, Princess Rashi, he did not hesitate to promise her hand to his long-time enemy, the Nizam of Balalagar, in order to keep his throne.

Princess Rashi-- The beautiful, seventeen-year-old daughter of Pashmar's Sultan. Though she loves her father, she is more than a little concerned about the Sultan's choice for her future husband, namely the cruel and notoriously misogynistic Nizam of Balalagar. She has struck up a lively friendship with Elizabeth Dalrymple, the daughter of the Honorable Pashmaristan Company's owner, who has taught her English.

Colonel Augustus Pfeifer-- Commander of the HPC's Army. Of Prussian extraction, Pfeifer's military career was heavily influenced by his leige, the 'Soldier-King' Frederick William I. A by-the-book drillmaster and no-nonsense tactician, Pfeifer has made the military wing of the HPC a viable and powerful force in the region, and has done much to "smooth out" the rougher parts of Pashmaristan.

 Captain Alexander Bell--
The Royal Navy

Admiral Stalwart Benbow--

Commander Peter Bartholomew "Bertie" Naseby, RN-- Royal Navy Lieutenant and the Master and Commander of His Majesty's Sloop-of-War Sprite. Young, handsome, charming, and a capable fighting-sailor, Bertie is much-beloved by the members of the Sprite's crew, as well as all of the ladies at each port-of-call. Ever the gentleman, however, he has his heart set upon wooing Ms. Elizabeth Dalrymple, who has to date repeatedly refused his affections.
